Began Service as a streamliner on November 15, 1949 til 1961. Reinstated 1963-1966. DL&W to Buffalo, then Nickle Plate to Chicago. Last Run was Thanksgiving Weekend, 1966. Named for a newspaper, magazine and advertising character in appearing in the early 1900s, the original Phoebe Snow ran from 1904 to 1917, and burned especially clean (anthracite) coal, keeping the train clean from effects of engine ash.
