Named for Nellie Bly, who in 1890 at age 22, traveled around the world in 72 days, beating the fictional account written by Jules Verne in Around the World in 80 days.She returned to a hero's welcome. The Nellie Bly, which ran from Jersey City via Trenton, to Atlantic City. This was the first train named for a woman.
