What a difference 40 years make - time does make the heart grow fonder. Expecting to keep in touch with (old) new friends now. Excited about being on the committee for the 45th reunion. Great idea about getting together every year or even having a news letter to keep everyone informed. Hope all who were there had a great time and plan on coming back!

MIKE GARCIA from Not Given writes:
Dear Friends, wish I could have been with all of you last weekend. I knew many of you....back to West Junior and some all the way back to Jefferson Elementary. My brother Frank Charles, we called him Charlie passed away on November 6, 1996 according to my Mother, Florence Garcia. He was living in Pontiac, Michigan. He was divorced from Mary and had three beautiful children--Adam is a U.S. Marine. stationed in Afghanistan. Amanda(the oldest), is married with two kids living outside Pontiac, Michigan. Aaron is age 20 and is a college student in Michigan. Charlie died of Cirrhosis.

Diane Althage Petrofsky from Needville, TX writes:
The reunion was wonderful....thank you to the committee for all your hard work! It was wonderful seeing old friends and renewing acquaintances. Seeing the old school sure brought back memories, too. Am now looking forward to our 45th!

Debra and I truly enjoyed the great 40-year reunion. The planning commmittee truly did an outstanding job. We members of the class of '69 are truly family. Let us stay in touch as we look forward to a wonderful time together in 2014. May God bless each and every one of you, my brothers and sisters. You are daily in my thoughts and prayers. Debra joins me in sending our love. If you are ever in the Ennis area, please come and visit us.

Thanks for allowing Janet & I to join you on Friday night. We had an absolutely wonderful time - nothing like visiting with dear friends. We had hoped to do the same Sat night and to also see those of you who did not attend Fri or left before we got there; but our handgun class lasted longer than expected. To those of you who expressed an interest in attending RHS'69 reunion - it kicks off at 7pm, Fri, 7/10, in the back room at Ninfa's - please join us! Please visit our website, www.RichfieldHighSchool1969.com, for other details. Until we meet again, Godspeed!

Take 'em Tigers! I work seven on and seven off and the reunion is my working weekend BUT this sweet little peach that works opposite me is willing to trade. I did not exactly like the look on her face when I told her it was for our 40 year reunion. Incredulous doesn't describe it. I bet she thinks I am sneaking off with the Barbie twins Ha Ha. See Ya There!

Charles Locke from Del Valle (just outside Austin) writes:

Hi Pam and Karen- Saw the reunion notice in the Trib & just had to check out the website. RHS69 is having our 40th in July. It has been lots of fun planning it; and I've enjoyed looking at the WHS info. If you prepare a booklet of info, as for the past reunion, I'd love to buy one, again. Having gone to Brook Ave & CABC, the roster for WHS looks like "home", also. Take care & tell eveyone hi for me. Thanks, Donna

Hello Waco 69' Tigers, 40 years, let that sink in. I'm so proud of the Committe doing this for all of us. I'll keep up with all of you through this reunion page. Better than no knowledge of everyone because I will not be able to come to the 40th. I've not missed any of them. I'll be in Peru on a mission trip that week coming home that weekend. Have a great time for me. Go GO Go because you'll have a good time remembering where we came from. Have a great time with each other. So what if there is more of us (weight) and less of us (hair)we're still TIGERS and always will be. To ALL THE MEMORIES OF HIGH SCHOOL AND ALL THE WONDERFUL MEMORIES OF REUNIONS. MAKE MORE FOR ME.

Janet L Stephens from Not Given writes:
I saw the newspaper ad today. Yea Class of 1969. 40 years ???!!!??? I checked the date of the reunion and I'm not going to be able to come. I'll be in Peru on a Mission Trip. I went last year and am so blessed to go again this year. I dont know if I'll be able to go anymore because Mom is not doing very well. But I'm making the most of this year. I'm now working at First United Methodist Church here in Waco. After Peru, this was my calling. I'm just where I belong but I have long hours learning this job. You can teach an old dog new tricks. I'm proof of that. Let me hear from you. I checking out the site now. I'm so sorry I want be there. We're coming back that Saturday night or Sunday A.m. Love to you all as you create new memories at the 40TH Just4Him, Janet Stephens

This website came to me from a friend and it has been a blast looking at it. I started my high school years at WHS, where my sister graduated, but then my parents moved and I attended Richfield for my junior and senior years. I have many friends at both schools. However, I would love to attend the WHS reunion this summer if possible. If not, my best to all of you. I know many of you very well and you are a terrific group. Would love to hear from you. I have asked about you for years....my brothers, Mike and Bob keep asking about Jack! Marsha G - thanks for your awesome comments. I hope everyone will listen to you. We just want to see everyone again. High School is a special time in the life of a teen-ager. Something we never forget and hopefully that is a good thing.

Thanks to all of you who have left a message, send more! We will have some writteninfo out soon, with a list of who we cannot find yet and hopefully someone will know about some of them!

See you soon - Lyn

Diane Althage Petrofsky from Needville, TX writes:
Wow, has it REALLY been 40 years? I eloped my junior year in college and moved with my ex (Army guy) to IN and WI while he served as an advisor to Army Reserve units. When we divorced I hightailed it back to TX (Houston) and remarried 6 years later. We're still here in the Houston area, but my mother and lots of cousins are still in Waco so I'm in Waco several times a year. I doubt many people remember me, but I'd love to attend this reunion...will give it a try.

Janice Peck Braswell from Waco writes:
Hope to make it this time. Great job on the website. Thanks to the committee for your hard work.

Carol Byrd Aleman from Waco writes:
Hello "superfine" classmates of "69"

Where did the past 40 years go? Times have certainly changed haven't they? I saw my picture & can't believe that was really me as I looked much thinner & my hair was thicker & I had more of it back then. Ha-Despite that I am thankful & blessed as I am a 14 year breast cancer survivor. Hope all of you are doing well! Hi to my best friend in high school
- Debbie Bizzell Hintz.

Marsha Gilliam from Waco, Texas writes:
Hey Class of '69 - Just wanted to drop you a line and tell you that the Class of '68 had such a wonderful 40th reunion. I hope that you are so fortunate to have as great of a time as we had. The only regrets that I have encountered from anyone about the reunion is the fact that they missed it for one reason or another. Some people felt they have gained too much weight or looked bad from being ill or thought nobody would remember them or that they hadn't accomplished what they thought people thought they should - you know what, nobody cared! It was instant acceptance from every single person there. We even reached out to people who we knew in Jr. High and some of them came and know we have some "new" old friendships. So, please don't let anything keep you from coming and seeing your old friends. It is really so special. Corny as it sounds, it really has enriched my life since the reunion. I hope ya'll have a great one. Marsha

P. S. Please decide early and send your money as soon as possible so your wonderful committee will be less stressed.

[Thanks Marsha --- Great to hear from you ---WHS '69 staff]

Hope to be at the 40th reunion this summer and catch up with everyone! The 10th was the last one I was able to attend. (I sometimes have a busy schedule doing law enforcement background investigation report that keeps me here in Southern California, but with luck I hope to work around them.) I know the reunion committee will do a great job coordinating this big event....good luck to all of you!

Virginia C. Johnson from Pearland, Texas writes:
Well, I am really looking forward to seeing everyone in June. I can't believe I received the email right out of the blue. I have been disconnected from everyone for so long, I was quite surprised. I haven't been back to Waco since my sister graduated in 1970 something. I hope I don't get lost. I am one of the kids that was in the Waco State Home and I haven't even been to one of their reunions. They have theirs every June also, maybe I can hit two birds with one stone. Hope to see you all soon. Virginia C. Johnson

Robert L. (Bob) Uzzel from Ennis writes:
We of the Class of '69 are truly family. I commend Pam Gardner Dunlap and other members of the WHS '69 staff for keeping us together.

I appreciate Debbie Bizzeell Hintz's comments. I was involved in the Prince Hall Pilgrimage to Brenham in 1995, with events at St. John AME Church and at one of the hotels. I wrote about it in my second book. I hope and pray that our 40-year reunion will be the best ever.

Debbie Bizzell Hintz from Brenham writes:
Just wanted to say "hello" to all my former classmates. 40 years out of high school! I find that hard to believe. I have so many memories of old Waco High. Can't wait to see you all. Debbie
