IRVING Click Here to follow "Dallas Cowboys" back in Time(2001)   ON this date in 2001, a 9ft 2 inch bronze statue of Tom Landry was unveiled during halftime of the Cowboys-Redskins game. The statue, on a star shaped pedestal, depicts Landry in his trademark fedora hat, holding his game plan. Landry died in February 2000 of complications from leukemia. Guadalupe Mountains National Park Created
WASHINGTON DC   (1966)    On this date in 1966, President Lyndon B Johnson signed legislation creating the Guadalupe Mountains National Park in West Texas. Its most prominent peak, El Capitan has been a landmark for western travelers for over a century.
