   Murphy play college baseball at Baylor University, and was later drafted in the Red Sox organization. On July 31, 2007, Murphy was traded to the Texas Rangers where his slugging percentage has been over .400 over the next five years.

Siringo's Pen Silenced
ALTADENA, CA Click Here to follow "Siringo" back in Time(1928)   Charles Siringo was a real Cowboy. At 22, he drove a heard of cattle into the Texas Panhandle and started his LX Ranch. In 1885, he published his first book, "A Texas Cowboy". Later, he joined the Pinkerton Detective agency, and tracked down criminals such as Billy the Kid. More books followed, and by the time of his death on this date in 1927, Siringo was one of the most celebrated cowboy authors of all time. He was 73. More of "Siringo" on the Web
